NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – A man accused of committing an armed robbery in North Charleston has been arrested. Keama Saulters, 19, was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force in connection with a robbery that occurred at a store off Midland Park Road on August 6.
Details of the Robbery
According to the North Charleston Police Department, the victim had purchased drinks at the store when three men followed him outside. One of the suspects then pointed a gun at the victim and forced him into a vehicle, demanding his wallet.
During the altercation, the armed suspect reportedly struck the victim in the head with the firearm. Despite the assault, the victim managed to retrieve his wallet and fled back into the store to report the crime.
Charges and Arrest
Saulters has been booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center on charges of “armed robbery with a deadly weapon” and “possession of a firearm during a violent crime.” The investigation is ongoing.
