Recovery Efforts
Polk County Emergency Management coordinated recovery, with the North Carolina National Guard assisting in removing the three disabled vehicles. Officials thanked NCDOT, IMAP teams, scrapers, and plows for helping restore traffic flow.​

No injuries were reported from the jackknifing incidents, which stemmed from hazardous winter weather on the steep Saluda Grade.​
