Dangerous heat and humidity will persist in the Lowcountry as the workweek begins. A Heat Advisory has been issued for the entire area, effective 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
High Temperatures and Heat Index
On Monday, temperatures are expected to soar into the upper 90s, with high humidity making it feel much hotter. Heat index values could reach up to 112 degrees, posing a significant risk to those who are exposed to the sun for extended periods of time.
Safety Tips
To stay safe during the heat:
Take breaks in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
Wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing to help stay cool.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid heat-related illnesses.
Relief Coming Later in the Week
While Monday’s heat will be extreme, there is some relief in sight. Cloud cover and higher rain chances later in the week will help lower temperatures, making the rest of the week more comfortable.
