An SUV—a 2013 GMC Terrain traveling west on Mt. Pisgah Road—ran through a stop sign and collided with a 2025 Chevrolet pickup truck heading south on SC 903 around 1:47-1:55 p.m. Garcia Canales, the front-seat passenger in the SUV, died at the scene, according to Coroner David West.​
