Storm Team 3: Warm up tomorrow before a mini cool down.

Savannah, Georgia. It’s another lovely day in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, and the good weather will continue into the night. The cold front moving in from the west is quiet and dry, with only a few clouds expected overnight. It will be less cool tonight due to increased cloud cover. Expect overnight lows in the mid to high 50s.

High pressure returns tomorrow and remains steady throughout the remainder of the week. Highs will reach the upper 70s on Wednesday before dropping slightly to the mid 70s on Thursday and Friday, with lots of sunshine. That pleasant stretch will continue into Saturday, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s.

Looking ahead, the next weather system will approach from the west by the end of the weekend, but it does not appear to be a major concern. There is a modest chance of a few patchy showers Sunday through Tuesday, but no heavy rain is forecast at this time.

In the tropics…

Tropical Storm Melissa has developed and is predicted to turn north. Melissa’s present path takes her away from the United States’ coastline, therefore the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry are unlikely to be affected.

However, Melissa will bring severe rain to regions of the Caribbean, including Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, over the weekend. We will continue to examine it closely, but for the time being, the anticipated trend is in our favor.
