The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is hosting a free youth fishing rodeo on March 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Elysian Fields Park in St. Stephen, aimed at kids ages 6-15.
Event Details
Families should arrive 15-30 minutes early for parking and check-in, with advance registration encouraged though on-site spots may be available until capacity. Each child can keep up to five fish (all bass released), with prizes for the three largest catfish awarded at the St. Stephen Catfish Festival on March 28. Water, hot dogs, and chips are provided, plus limited rods and bait—bring your own gear, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, and fish containers.
Rules and Location
Adults can assist but not fish; no pets (except service animals), alcohol, or treble hooks allowed. The park is at 957 Bogey Lane, St. Stephen, S.C., promoting safe outdoor fun for young anglers.
