SLED charges Florence County woman with lottery fraud

Florence County, South Carolina – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) accused a lady with lottery fraud.

On Tuesday, Florence County resident Germeane Roshelle Burgess, 19, was charged with intent to defraud and possession of fraudulent game tickets.

According to the arrest warrant, Burgess dished out 10 scratch-off lottery tickets on September 1 at Five Points Superette on Lake City Highway in Johnsonville.

According to the warrant, she stole the tickets from the Circle K on Georgetown Highway in Johnsonville the morning of September 1. The stolen tickets were caught on video surveillance.

According to the warrant, she redeemed the stolen tickets for $171 in cash rewards.

The South Carolina Education Lottery requested the SLED probe.

Burgess was booked at the Florence County Detention Center.
