The 2026 Cooper River Bridge Run on Saturday, March 28, brings extensive road closures in Charleston and Mount Pleasant starting Friday, March 27, to accommodate over 40,000 runners crossing the Arthur Ravenel Bridge.

Charleston Closures

Friday, March 27 (from 9 p.m.): George St. (King to Anson); Meeting St. (Calhoun to Wentworth).
Saturday, March 28: Calhoun St. (Meeting to Anson, then King to East Bay); Hutson St. (King to Meeting); Meeting St. (John to Hasell); Charlotte, Henrietta, George, Anson, Alexander, and Elizabeth Sts. in key blocks—all generally 4-4:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Race route shuts at 6 a.m. until noon-ish post-cleanup.

Mount Pleasant Closures

Friday: Coleman Blvd. delays expected.
Saturday: Coleman Blvd. phased closures (Fairmont to Hibben at 3 a.m., Chuck Dawley to Live Oak at 5 a.m., bridge to Live Oak at 6 a.m.); full Ravenel Bridge closure at 7 a.m. with US 17 southbound diversions. Most reopen by 10-11 a.m.

Parking Options

Runners can park overnight Friday 5 p.m. to Saturday 2 p.m. for $10 (credit card only) at Visitor’s Center Garage, Aquarium Garage (Calhoun St.), and 34 St. Philip St. Plan ahead to avoid weekend gridlock.
