Florence, South Carolina – According to records, a Florence man is free on bond after being charged in three different instances, including assaults.

Michael DiWayne Robinson was released on bond Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Florence Police Department, Robinson has been charged with pointing and displaying a handgun, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, assault and battery, petty larceny, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Officers said they were summoned to the 700 block of Darlington Street on September 11th, last year, in response to an assault report.

According to authorities, a victim was found who showed symptoms of injury and said Robinson had attacked her.

According to the arrest request, Robinson allegedly choked the victim’s throat before hitting her on the left side of her face three to four times with a closed hand.

According to police, Robinson is the victim’s ex-boyfriend, and he also allegedly snatched her phone during the event.

He could not be found at that time.

According to the FPD, officers responded to the 700 block of Oakland Ave in May of this year to investigate a probable assault.

Officers claimed they spoke with a victim who is a relative of Robinson and stated that he threatened her and put a gun to her face before fleeing the scene.

A witness apparently validated the information supplied to officers on the scene, and Robinson was still missing after that.

On Tuesday, October 7, an officer reported seeing Robinson sitting in a vehicle in the 1400 block of Reed Court.

Robinson ultimately exited the van and sat on the porch of the house.

When authorities attempted to take him out, Robinson retreated inside the house.

Robinson reportedly left the residence and surrendered himself.

According to Florence police, he acknowledged to attempting to destroy drugs in the residence and reported having a gun in his car.

Officers discovered a loaded 9mm weapon in the car, as well as 1 pound of marijuana in the home.

Prior to securing bond, he was incarcerated at the Florence County Detention Center.
