A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Norfolk Southern train Thursday night in Spartanburg County, S.C., behind Spartanburg Day School at railroad milepost 449.5.

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find the victim pronounced dead on scene, originally from Tennessee. No foul play is suspected at this time.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office and Norfolk Southern Railroad Police continue investigating the circumstances of the incident.
