An Amber Alert was issued Sunday morning when a 10-month-old infant was purportedly taken in Charlotte; however, the girl was located hours later.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, two people abducted Nalaya Crew Saturday evening. CMPD reported that she was found approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday.
According to police, Crew may be with Michelle Hemphill and Timothy Lee Smith.
CMPD stated that Hemphill is the victim’s “distant family member” and Smith is her boyfriend. According to CMPD, Crew’s family fears he is in danger with Hemphill, who is now homeless.
Police announced Sunday morning that Crew had been apprehended. CMPD did not disclose the girl’s condition.
