A Midlands man has died in what officials are calling a hit-and-run incident.
According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, dispatchers got a call at 8:30 p.m. Thursday reporting that a person had been hit by a vehicle in the 1000 block of W. Dekalb St. in Camden, near a Wendy’s restaurant.
According to the announcement, the car has departed the site.
West identified the deceased as Joseph Hudson, 57, of the Camden area. He died at the spot.
The incident is still under investigation. Those who may have witnessed anything relating to the case are requested to contact Camden police at 803-425-6025 during the day or 803-425-6035 after hours.
