Magnolia Plantation hosts its annual camellia flower show.

The Coastal Carolina Camellia Society’s 74th annual Camellia Flower Show took place January 24-25, 2026, at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, S.C., highlighting regional winter blooms. The event featured judged displays, a plant sale, and expert advice on camellia care.

Event Schedule

Entries were accepted Saturday morning from 7-9:30 a.m. for judging starting at 10:30 a.m., with public access that afternoon from 1-4 p.m. Sunday viewing ran 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., aligning with peak Lowcountry camellia season through February. Show access was free, though garden admission fees applied.

Camellia Highlights

Judges scored blooms on color, size, variegation, and form, expecting 600-800 entries from local growers. Magnolia’s plant manager Mike Brewer noted the site’s ancient camellias and the plants’ low-maintenance nature—shade-loving, cold-tolerant, with few pests when watered and fertilized regularly. Society members offered cultivation tips during public hours.
