Charleston County, South Carolina — As concerns mount about the potential impact of the prolonged government shutdown on SNAP payments, the Lowcountry Food Bank is offering a variety of food distribution options.
Sangaree Middle School in Ladson will host a food distribution from 4 to 6 p.m.
The mobile pantry will be at Dorchester’s Woodland Middle School from 2 to 4 p.m. this Friday.
Food bank managers predict an increase in demand if the government persists and federal nutrition assistance are delayed or cut.
The organization collaborates with schools and community groups to address the growing demand in the Lowcountry.
