Jadeveon Davarus Clowney, a Rock Hill native and NFL veteran, was arrested on September 12 in York County for trespassing and failing to identify. Both accusations are misdemeanors.
According to police records, Clowney, who recently signed with the Dallas Cowboys, attempted to park at the Dunbar Place Apartments on Constitution Boulevard, which was not open for parking.
According to a Rock Hill Police Department report, there have been parking issues at the residences during football games at the District 3 stadium.
An off-duty officer was dispatched to the neighborhood to deal with the issue.
Clowney claimed he was there to visit his aunt, but authorities stated he couldn’t park there. According to the police report, Clowney argued with officers, refused to present his ID, and was detained.
Jadeveon Clowney, born in Rock Hill, was the first overall choice in the 2014 NFL Draft. He attended the University of South Carolina after excelling at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill.
Clowney has played for a number of organizations in his professional career, most recently with the Carolina Panthers, before being released in May 2025. His signing with the Dallas Cowboys represents a new chapter in his career.
Clowney was also named Channel 9’s Big 22 Player of the Year.
