Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Cooler air is settling

Savannah, Georgia – Happy Thanksgiving!

The cold front has moved offshore, allowing cooler air to spread across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. If you’re hitting the road this morning, the weather won’t hold you back.
We predict dry roads all day. Temperatures will rise to around 60 degrees by noon, with highs in the low 60s. The cool and quiet weather continues into the evening, with temperatures dropping into the 40s by midday.
Chilly air continues to sweep in on Friday, with widespread freezing temperatures for locations west of Interstate 95. Many cities will also experience wind chills in the mid to upper 20s around daybreak. Cool air will be with us all day, with highs only reaching the mid 50s on our sunny Friday afternoon! The evening will be cool, with temperatures dropping into the 40s just after sunset. Dress warmly if you’re going to one of the many Christmas tree lightings!

Expect cold temperatures again on Saturday morning in inland towns. Wind chills will be in the upper 20s around morning.

We’ll see a few more clouds on Saturday, with highs in the mid to upper 50s in the afternoon. Sunday will be warmer, with morning lows in the 40s and highs around 70 degrees. Mostly dry weather continues throughout the day, providing ideal conditions for those traveling home via the roads.
Warmer weather will arrive Monday morning, with lows closer to 50 degrees. High temperatures will be in the low to mid-60s, with a slight chance of rain later in the day. Tuesday is expected to be wet, with some communities receiving.5″ to 1.5″ of rain. This rain is much-needed, but it will most likely disrupt many plans and hinder our commutes. Drier weather returns on Wednesday of next week, with highs around 60 degrees.
