A 20-year-old Georgia man is facing kidnapping charges after deputies say he handcuffed a woman while working security at a party in Oconee County, South Carolina.

According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Jordan Hardesty was arrested early Sunday morning after deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a home.

Allegations of Handcuffing and Assault

In addition to the disturbance call, a woman told deputies she had been handcuffed by Hardesty. Investigators say Hardesty was working as a security guard at the party but is not certified by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

The woman reported that she had asked Hardesty and other security personnel to remove someone from the party. When they refused, she said an argument began. She alleges Hardesty then placed her in handcuffs and struck her in the face multiple times.

Charges and Bond

Hardesty has been charged with kidnapping and assault and battery. He remains in jail on a $26,087.50 bond.

Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
