Beaufort County, South Carolina, has launched a composting pilot program to help residents manage food waste more sustainably by diverting it from landfills. The initiative provides drop-off bins at four convenience centers, promoting eco-friendly waste reduction and compost production for community use.
Program Locations
Food waste drop-offs are available at:
- Shanklin Convenience Center, 80 Shanklin Road, Beaufort.
- Bluffton Convenience Center, 104 Simmonsville Road.
- St. Helena Island Convenience Center, 639 Sea Island Parkway.
