Former Lexington County convict arrested again on crimes linked to previous incarceration, SLED said.

A former inmate at Lexington County Detention Center, Keante Lasoun Donaldson, was rearrested on January 29 for contraband and criminal conspiracy tied to smuggling an iPhone 7 into the facility.

Incident Details

Correctional officer James Johnson allegedly hid the phone and charger in a food tray, allowing Donaldson to access his iCloud and share it with other inmates for contacting women. Donaldson reportedly collaborated with resident Skyy Glover to pressure Johnson via text. Inmates had blackmailed Johnson with threats after discovering inappropriate pictures he sent, demanding CashApp payments to avoid false reports of misconduct involving an underage person.

Prior Arrests

Johnson and Glover faced contraband and conspiracy charges in March 2024 for their roles. Donaldson was briefly held on unrelated charges post-arrest but released on a $12,500 bond.
