For a CSX maintenance project, railroad crossings in the counties of Richmond, Scotland, and Robeson will be closed.

CSX Transportation plans to start a three-week track maintenance project on February 16, 2026, involving new railroad tie installations from Hamlet to Pembroke. This will temporarily close multiple crossings in Richmond, Scotland, and Robeson counties, with each closure lasting 2-5 days.

Project Details

Two CSX teams will work simultaneously—one starting in Hamlet moving south, the other from Pembroke moving north—aiming for completion by March 6, 2026. Schedules may shift due to field conditions, as noted by Angela Nelis of Southern Commercial Development.

Affected Crossings

Initial closures include City Dump Road (Richmond County, behind Ray Shankle Home Sales) and Grace Chapel Church Road (tentatively February 18). Further ones hit Joes Creek Road and Guinns Mill Road in Scotland County.
