FIRST ALERT: Through the end of the week, temperatures will be cool but above freezing!

Seasonably cool weather continues through the end of the work week, with a quick weekend warmup before a sharp arctic blast early next week.

Through Thursday Morning

Overnight lows into Thursday will be milder than the previous morning but still chilly, generally in the mid 30s to low 40s as clouds and easing winds keep most areas above freezing. A Lake Wind Advisory for Orangeburg, Clarendon, and Berkeley Counties remains in effect until before sunrise Thursday, with gusts near Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion potentially approaching 30 mph and 15–25 mph elsewhere.

Thursday and Weekend Warmup

Thursday afternoon highs should stay seasonably cool in the upper 40s to low 50s. By Saturday and Sunday, a noticeable warmup arrives, with daytime highs likely reaching the 60s across much of the area. This brief mild stretch precedes a much stronger cold front early next week.

Early Next Week Arctic Front

Forecast trends show a strong arctic front impacting the Lowcountry next week, with Monday afternoon highs only in the upper 30s to 40s. A widespread freeze is expected Sunday and Monday nights, and bitterly low wind chills will be possible, so planning for hard-freeze conditions and extra cold-weather precautions will be important.
