A Georgia teenager is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading state troopers on a high-speed chase through Augusta.

Chase Reaches Speeds Over 130 MPH

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Luke Daniel Sachau, 17, fled from troopers on April 6 along Bobby Jones Expressway.

Authorities said Sachau, who was driving a BMW, reached speeds as high as 137 mph during the pursuit.

Suspect Allegedly Tossed Items from Vehicle

During the chase, reports indicate the teen was seen throwing small plastic bags—commonly associated with drug packaging—out of both the driver and passenger side windows.

Arrest and Charges

Sachau eventually stopped the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.

He now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Felony fleeing/attempting to elude
  • Reckless driving
  • Speeding in excess of maximum limits
  • Open container in the passenger area
  • Littering the highway
  • Passing on the shoulder

Suspect Remains in Custody

Sachau is currently being held at the Richmond County Jail as the case proceeds through the legal system.
