Deputies: Two arrested after 10 pounds of meth discovered during a traffic check.

A traffic stop in Franklin County led to the discovery of 10 pounds of methamphetamine. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported that a deputy conducted the stop for following too closely and failure to maintain lane. The stop occurred Tuesday at 8:27 p.m.

Evidence Found During Investigation

During the stop, deputies noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. A further investigation revealed about 10 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, along with a digital currency counter and a firearm.

Arrests and Charges Filed

As a result of the investigation, Lavonia resident Grayson Brewer and Greenville resident Charles Stowers were arrested. The charges against them include DUI, following too closely, failure to maintain lane, possession of an open container of alcohol, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and trafficking methamphetamine. Additional charges may be pending.
