Darrius Gilmore, 21, faces charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and discharging a firearm into a vehicle after allegedly abducting two 15-year-old girls he knew in Calhoun County, South Carolina, last weekend.
Incident Details
The girls arrived at Gilmore’s Columbia apartment via Uber on Saturday (late March 2026). He accused them of theft, forced them into his car at gunpoint, bound them with tape, and drove to a remote Calhoun County spot. While assaulting one girl with the gun, the other freed herself, drove off in his vehicle (which Gilmore shot at, leaving bullet holes), and reached a gas station for help. Deputies quickly found the second girl and arrested Gilmore nearby.
Legal Status
Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office set $500K bond; he’s jailed as of Tuesday night. Chief Deputy Matt Trentham confirmed the acquaintance but no motive beyond the theft claim.
