Charleston, S.C. – Firefighters successfully extinguished a townhouse fire in West Ashley on Friday afternoon, according to the Charleston Fire Department.
Crews responded to reports of smoke around 1:30 p.m. on Oxford Place Road. Upon arrival, they found light smoke on the 1st and 2nd floors and heavy smoke in the attic.
As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated while first responders worked to locate the source of the smoke and extinguish the fire.
Charleston fire marshals are still investigating the cause of the blaze. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
