A suspicious package prompted a response from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad on Wednesday afternoon in downtown Charleston. The package was reported in front of the Charleston County Courthouse around 2:30 p.m..
Response and Road Closures
In response to the potential threat, authorities closed several nearby intersections, including King Street and Broad Street, as well as Queen Street and Meeting Street, to ensure public safety. The Bomb Squad investigated the package, and the area was secured while the team conducted their work.
All Roads Reopened
After a thorough investigation, the suspicious package was cleared, and authorities confirmed there was no threat. All roads have since been reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed.
