Berkeley County, South Carolina. – Berkeley County deputies are seeking for the public’s assistance in locating a Columbia man who allegedly posed as a Stokes Chevrolet employee to fraudulently acquire multiple things.
Johnny Allen Ray, 32, of Enclave Way, is wanted for forgery, financial identity fraud, larceny, and breaching trust.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, an employee at Parks Auto Parks filed a complaint in August alleging that a man came in and illegally purchased various car components while impersonating as a Stokes Chevrolet employee.
A spokeswoman for BCSO indicated that several orders were done over the phone under various names, and all of the purchases were charged to the dealership’s account.
Investigators learned Ray had gotten a replacement car battery under warranty from the Moncks Corner store, and they think he made the fraudulent purchases at Parks Auto in Santee.
Anyone with information about Ray’s whereabouts can contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 719-4412 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at (843) 554-1111.
