Charleston County, South Carolina – During an annual address Thursday morning, the Charleston County School District’s superintendent will discuss accomplishments and outline future objectives.

Superintendent Anita Huggins will deliver the 2025 State of the Schools presentation at an event held at the Charleston Music Hall.

According to district officials, Huggins will discuss the district’s recent accomplishments as well as significant projects underway to improve outcomes for all students.

Huggins will highlight the goal of increasing Universal Pre-K Child Development, which is funded locally and by the state. The curriculum is intended to help youngsters build the skills they will need to succeed in kindergarten.

“We believe that Universal Pre-K is a strategy that can help address poverty and absenteeism, and all of the challenges that children face,” laughed Huggins.

The evening will also include a range of student performances. Community leaders are also slated to attend the address.
