Florence, South Carolina — The Florence Fire Department and adjacent agencies responded to a residence fire just outside Timmonsville on Saturday evening, according to officials.
Around 5:30 p.m., firefighters were summoned to 2126 Twin Bridge Road, where they saw smoke and flames coming from the front of the house.
Firefighters entered and carried out a search and rescue operation.
The Florence Fire Department stated the incident was under control after a 20-minute battle, but the reason was unknown.
“The Florence Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to stay safe during the upcoming holiday season. Please ensure your smoke alarms are functioning, keep live Christmas trees watered, avoid blocking exits, and never leave cooking unattended.”
