On December 4, 2025, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police conducted a traffic stop on Arrowood Road in Steele Creek, leading to the discovery of suspected illegal narcotics in the vehicle and the arrest of 41-year-old Daniel Stout from a nearby hotel. The vehicle’s driver and passenger identified Stout as the supplier, prompting a search warrant for his room. Officers seized about 3.5 pounds of drugs, including 1520.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 91.5 grams of suspected GHB, 15 grams of mushrooms, 14 doses of LSD, 70 Adderall pills, 40 Valium pills, and $404 in cash.​

Stout faces trafficking methamphetamine (Level III), trafficking GHB (Level I), possession with intent to sell controlled substances, maintaining a dwelling for drug use/sale, and drug paraphernalia possession. These charges stem from North Carolina’s strict drug trafficking laws, which carry severe penalties for large quantities.​
