The Aiken Marathon, held as part of the “Run United” event on April 26, 2025, offers a range of races including a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and a One-Mile Kids Fun Run. Here’s what to expect:
Event Schedule and Race Details
Check-in opens at 7:00 a.m. on race day.
The Half Marathon and 10K races both start at 7:30 a.m.
The 5K begins at 7:45 a.m.
The One-Mile Kids Fun Run takes place at 9:30 a.m.
The event concludes by 10:30 a.m. EST.
Registration and Participants
The first 800 registrants by March 30 receive gender-specific Dri-Fit runner’s shirts (female shirts are V-neck).
Participants are encouraged to choose the next size up for their shirt.
Animals and strollers are allowed but must stay to the back of the race route.
Awards and Prizes
The first 400 finishers in each race category receive a medal regardless of finishing time.
The Half Marathon offers a $500 cash prize for male and female first-place winners.
Additional cash prizes are awarded across various age groups starting from 15 & under up to 85 & over.
The 5K and 10K races award recognition plaques for male and female winners in each age group, plus top three overall finishers.
Age group awards are announced online following the race to avoid large gatherings.
Additional Information
Race packets should ideally be picked up on Friday before the event at the Aiken Center for the Arts; race day packet pick-up is limited.
Proceeds benefit the United Way of Aiken County.
The race is hosted at the Newberry Street Festival Area in downtown Aiken, offering a vibrant backdrop.
