Starting next week, Spartanburg will implement several public transport changes to improve efficiency and service. Key highlights include:
The Crestview and South Liberty bus routes will shift to a Saturday schedule starting at 2:30 PM from Monday through Friday, meaning buses will run on a 1-hour cycle during these hours to streamline the service.
The Hillcrest bus route will temporarily avoid entering the Hillcrest Walmart stop and instead will turn left from East Main Street onto Dawn Redwood Drive until nearby construction is completed.
Spartanburg is also launching a new micro-transit ride-share style service called “SpartaGo” which began earlier in 2025. Rides cost $2 with an initial offer of four free rides for new users to encourage adoption and collect feedback.
During the closure of the SPARTA Transit system for certain modifications, riders may use the County’s Dial-A-Ride program as an alternate option.
These changes aim to better align transit schedules with rider needs, expand options, and maintain safety during infrastructure upgrades.
Riders should check the official City of Spartanburg and SPARTA websites or contact the transit office for updated schedules and route maps. These adjustments reflect Spartanburg’s strategy to modernize and optimize public transportation services in alignment with community growth and commuter feedback.
