Rock Hill’s public transport system will see notable changes effective next week, beginning Monday, October 13, 2025, as part of an ongoing effort to improve access, efficiency, and rider convenience.
Key Changes Effective October 13, 2025
KRTplus Expansion
KRTplus, an on-demand ride service, will add three new service zones: Southridge, Kanawha City, and South Charleston.
Expanded coverage in East Charleston means KRTplus will now serve West Charleston, East Charleston, South Hills, Southridge, Kanawha City, and South Charleston.
Route Transitions
Traditional bus service for Route 13 Beech Avenue and Route 15 South Hills will be replaced by flexible KRTplus service.
Free Transfers
Passengers using the new Account Based Ticketing system will get free transfers from KRTplus to fixed-route buses within one hour.
This is available via the Transit app or the new KRT Blue Card.
Rider Booking
Rides on KRTplus can be booked in real-time using its app, the Transit app, or by phone at (304) 343-7586.
Reasons for Change
These updates aim to replace low-ridership routes with more flexible, on-demand options, reduce costs, improve resource efficiency, and expand transportation access to key destinations like shopping, employment centers, and medical facilities. Next week’s adjustments should result in a more responsive and interconnected transit system for Rock Hill residents.
