Free COVID-19 testing is available in Spartanburg this week at multiple sites, including several healthcare and urgent care centers, as well as the Spartanburg Health Department offering free at-home test kits while supplies last.
Walk-In and Drive-Thru Testing Sites
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System runs a no-cost, no-order, drive-thru testing facility at the old Spartanburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership (1035 N. Church St.), open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nearby, Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney also has no-cost, drive-thru testing Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, which may serve Spartanburg area residents as well.
COVID-19 Testing at Urgent Care Centers
GoMed Mobile Urgent Care in Spartanburg offers rapid tests and PCR tests; open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
AFC Urgent Care Bon Secours location: open every day, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m, offering both rapid and PCR tests.
MEDcare Urgent Care: open daily 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., with results typically in under 1 hour for rapid tests.
Free At-Home Test Kits
Spartanburg County Health Department is distributing free iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test kits (with two tests per kit), available while supplies last into late 2025.
Pharmacies
Some local pharmacies and retail clinics such as MinuteClinic in CVS also offer COVID-19 testing (self-pay pricing may apply), with open hours throughout the week.
