The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced the final round of Social Security payments for the month of July. This Wednesday, July 23, will mark the last wave of Social Security checks for retirees, SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance), and survivors’ benefits recipients born between the 21st an d 31st of the month.
SSA Payment Schedule Breakdown
The SSA distributes payments on specific Wednesdays each month, based on the beneficiary’s date of birth:
Wednesday, July 9: Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th.
Wednesday, July 16: Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th.
Wednesday, July 23: Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st.
However, not all Social Security beneficiaries receive their checks on the designated Wednesday. Some exceptions apply to individuals receiving survivor benefits or those who started receiving their retirement, SSDI, or survivor payments before May 1997, who receive their checks on the third Wednesday of each month.
Payment Amounts: What to Expect
Each Social Security check varies based on the beneficiary’s personal situation and eligibility. Here are the average payments:
Average retirement benefit: $2,002.02 per month.
Maximum retirement benefit: $5,108 per month.
SSDI benefits: $1,582.08 per month.
SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits: $717.75 per month.

The amount each person receives will depend on their specific eligibility and work history.
Special Cases for Payment Schedules

SSI recipients: These individuals receive their payments on the 1st of each month.
Dual recipients (SSI + Social Security): Those receiving both SSI and Social Security benefits get their SSI on the 1st and Social Security on the 3rd of each month.
