York, SC — Mrs. Julie Shillinglaw was appointed by the York School District One Board of Trustees and sworn in by Judge Daniel Hall during the October 14, 2025, board meeting.
The board evaluated six candidates for the Seat 3 opening established after former board member Chris Revels died on May 28, 2025. The board unanimously decided to nominate Mrs. Julie Shillinglaw to Seat 3 for the remainder of the present term, which ends in November 2028.
Mrs. Julie Shillinglaw graduated from York Comprehensive High School. She is currently employed as a Paralegal and Office Manager for the York County Attorney’s Office, where she has spent 14 years. She is a board member of the York School District One Education Foundation, a parent member of the York Intermediate School Improvement Council, and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church Council, where she works on the youth leadership team as well as the mission and outreach committees. Mrs. Shillinglaw resides in Hickory Grove.
“Julie has been a valuable member of our community and York School District One, serving on the board of the York School District One Education Foundation and as Chair of the Student Improvement Council at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. We welcome Julie to the Board of Trustees and believe she will be an excellent addition,” stated Board of Trustees Chairperson Scott Childers on the appointment.
