Volunteers from Georgia’s Own Credit Union worked with Habitat for Humanity on Saturday to build homes in four Georgia communities.
Fifty Georgia’s Own volunteers began a six-day construction project in Southwest Atlanta, working on two homesites, one repaired and one new.
Georgia’s Own Credit Union also donated $25,000 to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity to help further its mission.
In addition to their work in Atlanta, Georgia’s Own volunteers took part in a variety of activities throughout the state. In Albany, volunteers worked on painting the interiors of two new homes. In Augusta, a team raised funds through a Habitat ReStore, and in Camden County, volunteers completed yard maintenance and staffed a block celebration to welcome a new Habitat homeowner to the community.
Overall, Georgia’s Own contributed $35,000 to this statewide initiative, demonstrating its commitment to community service and support for Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building houses for people in need.
Georgia’s Own Credit Union and Habitat for Humanity continue to have a tremendous influence in Georgia through these efforts, contributing to the construction of over 100 houses each year.
