A concerning incident from Hampton County has raised serious questions about student safety during school activities. What should have been a normal field trip turned into a troubling situation involving a young child left alone.
Teacher Charged After Field Trip Incident
According to the Hampton County Police Department, a teacher from Varnville Elementary School, Amanda Padgett, has been charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. Authorities said she turned herself in and was taken to the Hampton County Detention Center, where she was booked.
The charge comes after an investigation into an incident that happened following a school field trip.
Child Left Unattended After Trip
