Popular Greenville restaurant MooHogz BBQ has announced it is closing its doors after three and a half years in business. The barbecue spot shared the news Friday in a heartfelt post on Instagram.
From Food Trailer to Unity Park
In its message, the restaurant reflected on its journey, writing, “We started in a trailer at Hampton Station. We close this chapter at The Commons, in Unity Park.” MooHogz BBQ first launched at Hampton Station before later operating out of The Commons at Unity Park, becoming known for brisket and giant stuffed jalapeños.
The owners thanked customers for their support since 2022, saying many people returned, spread the word, and helped the business grow through shared meals and kind words.
A Passion Project Turned Community Space
The post described the restaurant as more than just a business, calling it a form of healing and a passion project meant to build something meaningful for their family and community. Along the way, they said it became about building relationships and creating a welcoming, human-centered space.
No additional details were provided about the reason for the closure.
