Two Upstate teenagers are charged with fatally shooting another teenager.

Two Upstate South Carolina teenagers, 19-year-old Gregory Keon Coker and 17-year-old Christopher Joseph Mallory, have been arrested and charged with murder and a weapons violation in connection with the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Bro’darrien Tate. The incident occurred on November 24, 2025, in the parking lot of Bryant Apartments in Spartanburg, where Tate, a local high school student, was killed.​​

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting late that night at the apartment complex on Bryant Road. Tate resided in the complex and was shot in the parking area; no details on his relationship to the suspects have been released publicly.

Charges and Status

Both suspects face charges of murder and unlawful possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They are detained at the Spartanburg County Detention Center, with bond hearings scheduled around late January 2026.​​
