Two males detained in connection with the Beaufort County shooting

Two men were arrested in connection with a shooting incident reported at the Hispanic Grocery and Deli in the Gray’s Hill area of Beaufort County, South Carolina, on March 30.

Who was arrested and what they’re charged with

  • Jamori Allen, 25, is charged with two counts of malicious injury to property, aggravated breach of peace, and possession of a machine gun.
  • Jamarion Brant, 25, is charged with two counts of first‑degree assault and battery, malicious injury to property, aggravated breach of peace, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

What happened during the shooting

Deputies responded to a shots‑fired call at the Hispanic Grocery and Deli on the 2700 block of Trask Parkway after victims reported that a vehicle and a house were struck in a shooting involving two suspects. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the incident caused property damage and alarmed the local community.

How the arrests unfolded

Deputies later executed a search warrant at Allen’s home, where they found multiple weapons and a large quantity of marijuana, leading to his arrest. Brant was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office in Columbia the following day and was then transported to Beaufort County, where he was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center.
