The Dave Spurlock Charleston County School District Football Jamboree is set to take place in mid-August, with 12 high school teams participating in preseason scrimmages. The event is scheduled for August 15 at Wildcat Stadium on the campus of West Ashley High School.

A Celebration of Lowcountry Athletics

The annual jamboree was named in honor of Dave Spurlock, a long-time Lowcountry athletic leader and former Charleston County School District (CCSD) Athletic Director. The event, now in its third year, was canceled last year due to a tropical storm that disrupted scheduling. The upcoming jamboree promises to bring exciting preseason action to the community.

Matchups and Schedule

The jamboree will feature several exciting matchups, with the first contest beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the final match starting at 8:00 p.m. Here are the scheduled matchups for the evening:

5:30 p.m. – Academic Magnet Raptors vs. North Charleston Cougars

6:00 p.m. – Wando Warriors vs. Bishop England Battling Bishops

6:30 p.m. – Military Magnet Eagles vs. Burke Bulldogs

7:00 p.m. – James Island Trojans vs. Lucy Beckham Bengals

7:30 p.m. – St. John’s Islanders vs. R.B. Stall Warriors

8:00 p.m. – West Ashley Wildcats vs. Baptist Hill Bobcats

Each of these preseason scrimmages will last 20 minutes, with normal clock operation, meaning the clock will stop as it would in a regular game. The matchups will give fans an early preview of the upcoming high school football season.

Event Details

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., and the district’s clear bag policy will be enforced, so attendees are encouraged to plan accordingly. Tickets are priced at $8 per person and can be purchased online. Children five years old and under can attend for free. Digital tickets should be saved to email accounts for easy access at the gate.

For those who prefer to pay in cash, tickets will also be available at the entrance on the day of the event. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the 12 participating schools, making this an exciting event for both fans and athletes alike.
