Summerville, South Carolina – A Summerville burger joint is organizing a food drive to assist families experiencing food insecurity this holiday season.

The Knot Burger Pub has launched “Every Double Makes a Difference,” a two-month campaign that includes themed donation weeks, weekly food drives, and local-business-sponsored giveaways to help feed Dorchester County residents in need.

From now until December, $1 from each Double Burchy Burger sold will be contributed to local food aid. Throughout the holidays, The Knot will hold weekly themed food drives to collect things such as pasta, breakfast foods, soups, taco kits, and more.

Community members who donate things for the weekly drives will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes from local companies. Pantry items can be contributed on any day of the week.

“This town shows up for us every single day,” said Derek Burcham, proprietor of The Knot Burger Pub. The least we can do is return promptly. “When circumstances are rough, little acts, such as a can of soup or a package of noodles, can have a significant impact. We’re here to help increase that influence.”

The Knot has created an Amazon Wish List where interested customers can have products mailed straight to the restaurant and donated to local blessing boxes and families.

Local companies are urged to participate by giving raffle goods such as gift cards, merchandise, or small branded things to increase participation.

“This drive isn’t just about collecting food,” explained Dinah Yo, the proprietor of The Knot Burger Pub. “It’s about showing that when local businesses team up, we can lift our whole community.”
