A Spartanburg man is facing multiple serious charges after police say he opened fire on his ex-girlfriend while driving.

Shooting Reported After Restaurant Encounter

According to the Spartanburg Police Department, the incident began on March 28 when officers responded to a weapons-related disturbance.

Investigators say the victim and her boyfriend were at a Cookout restaurant on John B. White Sr. Boulevard when her ex-boyfriend entered the location.

Suspect Allegedly Followed Victims

Police identified the suspect as Derrick Jarrod Peake Jr.

Authorities say Peake followed the couple as they left the restaurant, continuing from the parking lot onto John B. White Sr. Boulevard and toward Blackstock Road.

During the पीछuit, officials say Peake drove alongside their vehicle and began shouting threats.

Investigators allege Peake fired approximately three rounds at the couple’s car, striking it near the rear passenger wheel area.

Police also say he intentionally rammed the back of their vehicle during the incident.
