A brand-new series is coming to WCBD+ that will highlight the authentic food and flavors of the Lowcountry, and viewers are getting an early taste.
Dalilah James and Jameson Moyer host Serving Up Flavor, which explores the dishes, people, and stories that make our community unique. Brittney Simmons, the owner of Britt Bratt Garlic Crabs and a native of Moncks Corner, appears in their first episode.
Simmons began selling seafood from her car in 2015, and it has since grown into a Lowcountry favorite known for generous portions and a highly sought-after signature garlic sauce. Despite rising seafood prices, she has kept prices reasonable and the love for her food stronger than ever.
“Most of us here are family, and those who aren’t, we treat like family,” Simmons reflected. “When anybody walks in here, you’re our family.”
