Richland County, South Carolina. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested Cody Goff, 39, in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday.

Authorities charged Goff with attempted murder and carrying a weapon during a violent crime.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Harmon Road around 5:50 p.m. and discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body at a nearby residence.

The victim left his home for safety and was transported to a hospital by EMS, according to authorities.

According to the sheriff’s department, deputies attempted to contact Goff at the scene, but he refused to cooperate and barricaded himself inside a home.

Negotiators and the Special Response Team responded, and Goff surrendered to law enforcement after approximately four hours, according to officials.
