Police have identified three people of interest in the murder of a man discovered in a garbage can in South Carolina, according to the chief.

David Hutchinson, a 32-year-old barber from Massachusetts, was found dead in a trash can behind an abandoned home on Pearl Street in Marion, S.C., last week, with his death now investigated as a homicide. Marion Police Chief Tony Flowers stated there are at least three key persons of interest, plus others who may have relevant information.

Victim Background

Hutchinson traveled to Marion in December after connecting online with a woman who promised job opportunities; he went missing on January 12 without informing family. His relatives described him as a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who hoped for a fresh start.

Arrest and Investigation

Jaida Braddy, 41, was arrested January 30 and charged with accessory after the fact to a felony for admitting to moving the trash can containing his body, following a police tip; she remains in Marion County Detention Center on $15,000 bond. Chief Flowers noted up to 12 potential persons of interest overall, with an autopsy pending to determine cause of death, potentially taking weeks. Authorities urge tips to Marion Police at 843-423-8616 or 911.
