Horry County Police confirmed two shootings near Coastal Carolina University’s campus on March 9 are related, though details remain limited.
Highway 544 Incident
Around 4 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Highway 544 for a disturbance that escalated into an active shooting in a parking lot. Witnesses reported an assault and gunfire; evidence was found on scene, with two victims transported privately to a hospital.
Highway 501 Shooting
Conway Police handled the earlier 2 a.m. event near a 7-Eleven and Waffle House at Highway 501 and East Cox Ferry Road, popular with CCU students. One victim was critically injured after Jeraymein Green, 20, of Longs, allegedly flashed a handgun with a red laser and fired multiple times following an argument.
Suspect Background
Green faces attempted murder and weapons charges here, plus prior cases including a September 2025 Gateway Drive shooting injuring two and a 2023 conviction for attempted murder and assault. He remains in custody as the joint investigation continues.
