Police in Summerville say a carjacking suspect is behind bars after leading officers on a chase that ended in a crash Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Summerville Police Department, the incident began around 3:45 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a vehicle connected to a morning carjacking in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Instead of stopping, the driver fled, sparking a brief pursuit through Summerville. The chase came to an end on Farmington Road, where the suspect reportedly crashed the stolen vehicle.
No Passengers, No Serious Injuries Reported
Police confirmed that the suspect was the only person inside the car at the time of the crash. There were no reports of injuries to other drivers or pedestrians.
