One person was killed Thursday afternoon after a vehicle crashed and caught fire in Richland County, South Carolina, authorities said.
Crash Details
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Vandoval Road.
Officials said a 2019 Ford Fiesta was traveling west when the driver veered off the roadway, struck a ditch, and the vehicle caught fire.
Driver Pronounced Dead at Scene
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the victim.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities say the crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
